simple-page-master/region-body Sub Element

This section describes the simple-page-master/region-body, which is the only required sub element of simple-page-master. region-body can have its own margin. But it can not have border or padding.

"simple-page-master" page layout has 5 regions: region-body, region-before, region-after, region-start, and region-end, as we learned from the previous section. Let's look at the "region-body" region first.

What is "region-body"? "region-body" is a required sub element of the XSL-FO page layout declaration element "simple-page-master" to declare the "body" region located in the center of the page.

"region-body" has the following attributes:

Note that border="..." and padding="..." should not be used, because only 0 width is allows. In other words, "region-body" will have no border and no padding.

Here is an example <region-body ...> element with a given name, margin and background color:

   <fo:region-body region-name="my_body" background-color="#eeeeee"
   margin="0.5in" reference-orientation="0" writing-mode="lr-tb"/>
