Add Ethereum Test Network in MetaMask
This section provides a tutorial example on how to add a MetaMask test account on test networks in order to receive free Ether money for testing.
With MetaMask extension for Chrome installed and my account on Ethereum ready, now I can try to receive some free Ether money to test the MetaMask wallet.
Here what I tried to add "Ropsten Test Network" and create a test account for receiving free Ether money.
1. Open MetaMask extension and click on the network icon at the top-left corner. I see a list of Ether networks.
2. Turn on the "Show test networks" switch. I see a list of Ether test networks.
3. Select "Sepolia" as the current network. Note that the "Ropsten" test network was deprecated and is no longer available.
4. Click the dropdown icon next to the account name. I see a list of my Ether accounts.
5. Click "Add account" at the end of the list. I see the "Add account" window.
6. Click "Add a new account" and enter "My Test Account" as the account name to finish creating a new test account.
7. Open the account detail. I get the Ether address of the test account: 0xf8e50468eFD092D3B457B199f8b910b421e607b6.
