End User Components of Microsoft Windows

This section presents Microsoft Windows components from end user point view. Windows Explorer is the most used component.

From end user point of view, Microsoft Windows components can be grouped in 3 areas:

1. Configuration and Maintenance - Like Control Panel, Device Manager, Windows Action Center, Microsoft Management Console, System Restore, Windows Disk Defragmenter, Event Viewer, Resource Monitor, Registry Editor, Task Scheduler, Windows Update, Windows Installer, etc.

2. User Interface - Like Windows Shell, Windows Explorer, Windows Search, Start Menu, Taskbar, File Associations, etc.

3. Application and Utilities - Like Calculator, Character Map, Paint, Notepad, Sound Recorder, Command Prompt, WordPad, Remote Desktop Connection, Internet Explorer, Windows Media Player, Windows Photo Viewer, Windows Media Center, Windows Task Manager, Disk Cleanup, Snipping Tool, etc.
