Main Window, Toolbox, and Layers/Channels
This section provides information on launching GIMP and identifying the main window, the Toolbox window and the Layers/Channels window.
After installing GIMP, you should try to run it:
1. Click Start > All Programs > GIMP > GIMP 2. The GIMP main window shows up:
2. The main window will hold the image being editing with menu items like: File, Edit, Select,
View, Image, Layer, Colors, Tools, Filters, Windows and Help.
3. The Toolbox window shows up on the left of the main window. It allows you to pick different tools for image editing.
3. The "Layers, Channels, Paths, ..." shows up on the right of the main window.
It contains information related to image layers, channels, paths, etc.
