∟What Is PubChem
This section provides a quick introduction of what is ChEMBL.
PubChem is a database of chemical molecules and their activities against biological assays.
The system is maintained by the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI),
a component of the National Library of Medicine of US Government.
Main features of PubChem database:
- PubChem database is free to use.
- It collected 102M Compounds, 268M Bioactivities, 30M Literature, and more.
- It has a nice Web user interface with capabilities like
searching by keyword, substructure or similarity.
It also provides Compound Report Cards with full details
and related information.
- It has 3D structure representation of compounds.
- It has FTP site for data download.
- It has Web services to retrieve structure and assay records in several styles.
- It has widgets to be embedded in any Web pages for various data resources.
- It has RDF (Resource Description Framework) interface.
