Add Text Fonts on macOS
This section provides a list of commonly used keyboard and mouse click shortcuts on macOS.
Sometimes you may want to add a new text font your macOS. You can follow what I did to install the "Dancing Script" font family by Google.
1. Go to Google font Website at https://fonts.google.com.
2. Scroll down and click "Dancing Script" from the font list. The "Dancing Script" Web page shows up.
3. Click the "Download family" link on the top right corner of the page.
4. Save the download file to ~/Downloads/Dancing_Script.zip.
5. Unzip ~/Downloads/Dancing_Script.zip. A list of font files shows up:
herong$ tree |-- DancingScript-VariableFont_wght.ttf |-- OFL.txt |-- README.txt |-- static |-- DancingScript-Bold.ttf |-- DancingScript-Medium.ttf |-- DancingScript-Regular.ttf |-- DancingScript-SemiBold.ttf
6. Run "/Applications/Font Book" and use "Files > Add Fonts" to open font file static/DancingScript-Regular.ttf.
The new font is added to the system and available to all applications.
