Install Office Software - OpenOffice
This section provides a tutorial on how to download and install office software OpenOffice on macOS.
Apache OpenOffice is the leading open-source office software suite for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, graphics, databases and more.
Here is what I did to install and run OpenOffice on macOS:
1. Go to OpenOffice download website at openoffice.org/download/.
2. Select "OS X (...) (DMG)" / "4.17" and click "Download full installation". The download file, Apache_OpenOffice_4.1.7_MacOS_x86-64_install_en-US.dmg, is saved in "Downloads" Directory
3. Double-click Apache_OpenOffice_4.1.7_MacOS_x86-64_install_en-US.dmg in "Downloads" Directory to start the installation.
4. Drag OpenOffice to "Applications" on the installation screen.
5. Double-click OpenOffice in Applications directory to open it.
6. If you see security error, Control-click OpenOffice and select Open to override the security restriction.
