What Is macOS KeyChain
This section describes what is macOS Keychain - a database integrated in a macOS operating system to store passwords, private/public keys and certificates.
What Is macOS KeyChain? A macOS KeyChain is a data integrated in a macOS operating system to store passwords, private/public keys and certificates.
Main features of Windows Certificate Store are:
- Each user has his/her own KeyChain called "login", where your own certificates are stored.
- Each user can also access a shared KeyChain called "System", where shared certificates are stored.
- Each user can also access a special KeyChain called "System Roots", where official root CA certificates are store.
- User can manage certificates in the KeyChain using the KeyChain Access tool.
- User can also manage certificates in the KeyChain using the "security" command.
Here is a list of trusted root CA certificates displayed by the KayChain Access tool.
