Install Speedtest CLI
This section provides a tutorial on how to install and use 'Speedtest CLI' on macOS.
If you want to measure what is your Internet speed, you can try this simple tool called "Speedtest CLI".
1. Go to Speedtest CLI Website at speedtest.net/apps/cli.
2. Click "Download for macOS" to download the binary package. And save the file as ookla-speedtest-1.0.0-macosx.tar.
3. Install it to the system library:
herong$ mkdir Speedtest herong$ cd Speedtest herong$ mv ../ookla-speedtest-1.0.0-macosx.tar . herong$ tar -xf ookla-speedtest-1.0.0-macosx.tar herong$ cd .. herong$ sodu mv ./Speedtest /Library/Speedtest
4 Try it out:
herong$ /Library/Speedtest/speedtest
