"jar --list" - Listing Files in JAR File
This section provides a tutorial example on how to list files stored in a JAR file with the 'jar --list' command.
To list all files stored in a JAR file, you can using the "jar --list --file ..." command.
herong> jar --list --verbose --file hello.jar 0 ... 2018 META-INF/ 66 ... 2018 META-INF/MANIFEST.MF 416 ... 2018 Hello.class
Or use the old short formats:
herong> jar tvf hello.jar 0 ... 2018 META-INF/ 66 ... 2018 META-INF/MANIFEST.MF 416 ... 2018 Hello.class herong> jar -t -v -f hello.jar 0 ... 2018 META-INF/ 66 ... 2018 META-INF/MANIFEST.MF 416 ... 2018 Hello.class
Notice that the manifest file, MANIFEST.MF, is stored in a sub-directory called META-INF.
