This section provides a tutorial example on how to download and install JDK 10, which includes some nice Java tools, on a Windows system.
As a Java developer kit, the Oracle JDK package includes a number of nice Java tools.
Here is what I did to download and install JDK 10, also called Java SE 10, on my Windows computer.
To test the installation, open a command window and run the "java -version" command. I got the following output:
herong> \Progra~1\Java\jdk-10.0.1\bin\java -version java version "10.0.1" 2018-04-17 Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 18.3 (build 10.0.1+10) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 18.3 (build 10.0.1+10, mixed mode)
Cool, I have successfully installed JDK 10 on my Windows computer!
