Creating CallableStatement Objects with prepareCall()
This section describes how to create a CallableStatement object with the prepareCall() method.
The first test I did was to create a CallableStatement with the prepareCall() method to call my simple procedure, UpdatePoint:
/* OracleCallableStatement.java
* Copyright (c) HerongYang.com. All Rights Reserved.
*/
import java.sql.*;
public class OracleCallableStatement {
public static void main(String [] args) {
Connection con = null;
try {
oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleDataSource ds
= new oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleDataSource();
ds.setDriverType("thin");
ds.setServerName("localhost");
ds.setPortNumber(1521);
ds.setDatabaseName("XE");
ds.setUser("Herong");
ds.setPassword("TopSecret");
con = ds.getConnection();
// Create CallableStatement
CallableStatement cs = con.prepareCall("CALL UpdatePoint()");
// Execute the call statement
cs.execute();
// Close resource
cs.close();
// Check execution result
Statement sta = con.createStatement();
ResultSet res = sta.executeQuery(
"SELECT * FROM Profile WHERE FirstName LIKE 'Herong'");
res.next();
System.err.println("Point: "+res.getInt("Point"));
res.close();
sta.close();
con.close();
} catch (Exception e) {
e.printStackTrace();
}
}
}
Compilation and execution went ok. The output confirms that UpdatePoint was executed correctly:
herong> java -cp .;ojdbc11.jar OracleCallableStatement Point: 2 herong> java -cp .;ojdbc11.jar OracleCallableStatement Point: 3
