∟getTime - HTTP Request Sample

This section provides a request message sample of getTime Web service.

The HTTP request of getTime Web service supports 4 parameters:

appid - Required. Specifies an identification of your application, which can be obtained from Yahoo.com. You can use "YahooDemo" as "appid" for testing purpose.
format - Specifies the format of the time returned by Yahoo. Accepted values are "unix" for unix timestamp format and "ms" for milliseconds format.
output - Specifies the format of the response message. Accepted values are "xml", "json" and "php".
callback - Specifies a call back URL when output="json" is used.

Click on the "Request 1" below "getTime" in the "GetTime" method list. You will see a GET request template.

Add the following parameters in the request:

appid: YahooDemo
format: unix
output: xml

You will get a complete request of "getTime".

Run this sample request and click the "Raw" vertical tab. You will see the entire HTTP request including header lines:

GET http://developer.yahooapis.com/TimeService/V1/getTime
   ?appid=YahooDemo&format=unix&output=xml HTTP/1.1
Accept-Encoding: gzip,deflate
Host: developer.yahooapis.com
Connection: Keep-Alive
User-Agent: Apache-HttpClient/4.1.1 (java 1.5)

Note that there is no HTTP body. All parameters are encoded as the query string attached to the URL.
