Missing Adobe Flash Player on Safari 5
This section provides a tutorial example on what you will see on Apple Safari 5 when visiting a Web page that uses Flash without Adobe Flash Player Plugin installed.
If you do not have Adobe Flash Player Plugin installed and visit a Web site that uses the Flash technology with Apple Safari you will get an error on the Web page.
Without Adobe Flash Player Plugin installed, here is what I got on Apple Safari 5 with default settings:
1. Run Apple Safari 5 and visit this Flash test page, http://herongyang.com/Flash/SWFC-ActionScript-Space-Explorer-Stabilized.html. The test page will show an empty area with a simple message, "Missing Plug-in".
2. Click on the message "Missing Plug-in". You will see message dialog box showing up with:
This page has content that requires an Internet plug-in. To show this content, you need Adobe Flash Player. Click More Info to visit the plug-in's website.
The picture below shows you an example of what you will see when the Adobe Flash Player Plugin is missing in Safari 5:
