Viewing XML Documents in Source Code
This section provides a tutorial example on how to view XML documents in source code using XML Notepad 2007 default XSLT template.
After created your XML document in the Tree View, you can look at the XML source code using the "XSL Output" function.
1. Run "XML Notepad 2007" again, and open "dictionary.xml" using menu "File" > "Open".
2. Click tab "XSL Output". You see a notice box showing up with these messages:
Your XML document contains no xml-stylesheet processing instruction. To provide an XSLT transform, add the following to the top of your file and edit the href attribute accordingly: <?xml-stylesheet type="text/xsl" href="stylesheet.xsl"?> You can also enter the XSLT file name using the above text box, but this will not persist with your XML document. The following HTML is provided by the default XSLT transform which is designed to pretty print your XML document.
3. Look at the XML source code below the notice box. It is converted from the XML document using a default XSLT (Extensible Stylesheet Language Transformations) template.
