SOAP Web Service Request Template
This section provides a tutorial example on how to review the request template generated by SoapUI for a SOAP Web service from a WSDL document.
Once a SOAP project is created as shown in the previous tutorial, you can look at the request template generated by SoapUI to help you understand what parameters are needed to call the Web service.
Double-click on "Request 1" below the "Hello" method of the "helloBinding". You will see a SOAP Web service request and response screen shows up.
In the request area, you will see a request template generated by SoapUI to help you create a complete request message:
<soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:ser="http://www.herongyang.com/Service/"> <soapenv:Header/> <soapenv:Body> <ser:HelloRequest>?</ser:HelloRequest> </soapenv:Body> </soapenv:Envelope>
The question mark "?" in the request template is placeholder for you to enter a proper value based on documentation given by the web service provider.
See the next tutorial on how complete a request message and call the Web service.
